Profile
Welcome to my profile. I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor offering a confidential and professional service from a peaceful environment close to Derby.
As an integrative counsellor, my work is underpinned by three major theoretical approaches to counselling and psychotherapy: Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
We all have times when life can become difficult for us, although our friends and family can offer support sometimes this isn't enough. Maybe they are just too close or there are feelings you can't share and may hold onto for years. This is where counselling may be able to help. By working with someone who is totally independent from your life, you have the opportunity to fully explore your own feelings within an understanding, non-judgemental and confidential relationship.
As well as working in private practice, I have worked as a counsellor at local voluntary agencies and a local college, I continue to work as a volunteer counsellor at Derby Women's Centre; I have also been a tutor in Counselling at a local college. As part of my commitment to ongoing development am currently studying for a Masters Degree in Counselling at the University of Nottingham. I work with a wide range of issues including low self esteem, abuse, trauma, relationship problems, food related issues, bereavement and loss, bereavement by suicide, anxiety, depression and stress.
If you have any questions about my service, please feel free to phone me on 07519807082 or email me at the above address.

Further Information
I offer short-term and long-term counselling, each session lasting 1 hour. Although it is usual for counselling sessions to be on a weekly basis, I recognise this is not always possible for a variety of reasons; because of this I aim to accommodate each client's individual needs by having a more flexible approach.
