About me

I offer a confidential, empathic space enabling you to explore your issues and worries. While supporting you to recognise and build on your own strengths and resources.  I counsel adults, young people and children and provide supervision for qualified counsellors, students and other professionals.

Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, confused or low about issues in your life. Counselling can allow you space to explore this, giving you a chance to build a better understanding of yourself and your relationships

My main training is Integrative, this means that I am able to draw my theoretical knowledge from the three main counselling approaches, cognitive behavioural, humanistic and psychodynamic.

I work with this knowledge, offering counselling that emphasises the importance of the relationship between client and counsellor whilst using skills and techniques that are appropriate for each individual.

I work with issues around: Stress, Anxiety, Bereavement, Relationships, Depression, Self harm, Eating/food issues, Self-esteem, Abuse, Trauma, Anger, work related issues... If I have not included anything that relates to you please feel free to contact me for further discussion, as it is not always easy to name our issues.

My profile and website will tell you more about me and how I work, to help you decide if I'm the right therapist for you.

I have worked as a counsellor in a variety of settings in Wiltshire, Hampshire & Dorset.  As a counsellor and previously as a practitioner within the statutory and voluntary sector I have gained experience of working with children, young people and adults.  My experience covers counselling
in mental health, a crisis centre, a university, primary and secondary schools.  I have worked also within social care providing one to one and group support to parents and young people. I have managed and co-ordinated counselling services, volunteers and training.  I also have personal experience of living and
working abroad in a military setting.

I have a particular training and interest in working with children and adolescents (five years upwards) using a variety of techniques to enable them to express their emotions through creative mediums.

I am also a partner and co founder of 'Talkabout' based in Salisbury. We are an organisation that offers counselling to children & adolescents in Schools.

I work from consulting rooms in Salisbury city centre, please see my website for more details of my private consulting rooms.
