Profile

I am a Senior Counsellor in the N.H.S.working in Primary Care for the past ten years. I have also worked as a Couple Counsellor for Relate. I was a lecturer in Counselling Studies, and deliver Anger Management trainin. I have had a Private Practice for the past ten years. I am accredited with British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and a UK Registered Counsellor Psychotherapist. I am a supervisor of Counsellors and offer supervision privately.
I work with individuals and couples on a wide range of issues. My therapy is an integration of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy with some Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Humanistic approaches. I tailor the therapeutic interventions to the client rather than make the client fit into one mode of therapy.
I am a Hypnotherapist and use Hypnotherapy where appropriate, for example with anxiety, phobias, and for helping therapy to progress. It is with the client's permission and, often, request.

Further Information

I work with people both long-term and short-term. Most counselling issues can be helped in six sessions but some people want to explore deeper. My work in the NHS is around six sessions and I am able to work to a time limit.
