About me

Easily accessible from Coventry. Leamington Spa and Kenilworth, working face to face or remotely via Zoom and other platforms for your convenience, I work Weekdays and weekends plus Evening appointments are available. I work with GP or self referral and I am happy to take on EAP work.

I am a Senior Accredited BACP & UKRCP* Registered Independent Counsellor/Psychotherapist and Qualified Supervisor, I am also a Senior Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society UK.

My aim is to assist my clients to achieve their chosen goals, exploring options, resolving past issues, enabling resolution and progressing forward enhancing self-esteem and confidence, understanding that change is sometimes a very difficult process.

My approach to counselling is integrated, meaning that I can work with a combination of theories, Person-centred counselling underpins all of my work, especially when working on an emotional level with my clients, I have also trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and other humanistic-based therapies. I practice both short and long-term counselling, and regularly review goals along the way, often with short-term work I have found that solution-based theory is most beneficial.

I am an accredited bereavement counsellor, this is in addition to being a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor, I also have specialist training dealing with domestic abuse and violence including anger management training, I am also very comfortable working with Couples counselling.

In addition to my counselling and psychotherapy practice, I am also a fully qualified and practising Acupuncturist, finding many philosophical overlaps including that of Mindfulness, a concept now widely recognised in Western psychotherapeutic practice. I find my extra knowledge and training particularly beneficial when working with depression and Addiction, including weight loss.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Testimonials "Where to begin... anxiety was something I previously knew nothing about let alone how to understand the symptoms, recognise triggers and learn how to become the best version of ‘me’ ! I can hands down and honestly say without Jacqueline I don’t know where I’d be right now, she’s been my personal angel and certainly a life saver! I remember my first session sat outside her premises in floods of tears and completely petrified, this first step meant that I needed to accept that I needed help not that I’d failed in life. She opened the door with a huge smile and opened her arms to me. I instantly felt welcomed and after a nice peppermint tea I started to calm down. Jacqueline has taught me many things I didn’t know about myself and provided me tools to work through my anxiety but most of all acceptance and that it’s ok to have what I always call a few bumps in the life road. After a couple of sessions I started to look forward to my Tuesday meet as Jacquelines premises is now my safe heaven where I’m not judged and can speak open and honestly about my troubles/feelings. She truly has the most wonderful gift and I’d highly recommend her to anyone. Very professional, calming nature and a fabulous personality! Thank you for everything you do and have done for me Jacqueline xxx

I can’t thank you enough for everything you did for me

Hi Jacqueline

I’m so terribly sorry that I haven’t been in touch. I had an even worse rough patch after we last saw each other. I was made redundant (they tried to pay me next to nothing so I had to really them which took a lot of doing) then I had a miscarriage. Shortly after that my brother tried to kill himself by jumping from a rail way bridge. He broke both of his hips and his foot. He was lucky to survive. All of that happened within 5 months of each other and it put a huge strain on me and K. We’ve just about survived it. Then my redundancy battle ended and I came away with a years salary. my brother recovered and I came to terms with the loss of the baby. K and I were not in a great place but we knew we wanted to still be together and T was absolutely thriving so we were moving on. Then K was offered an amazing opportunity in shanghai working for the Chinese enterprise and we went for it! 5 months of planning later and we arrived in shanghai yesterday. We will be here for three years all being well. It was a huge risk and I hope it pays off after everything we’ve been through. I can’t thank you enough for everything you did for me after losing A and then W. Your sessions honestly saved my life. There loses will always sit extremely heavily with me and I am still grieving for both of them.

We would absolutely love for your and Ray to come and stay with us here. I will send you our address. Love H xxx

If anyone is nervous about the thought of your first meeting and meeting Jacqueline then you are not alone. However, those nerves are very short lived as she makes you feel at ease straight away and is very easy to talk too. She has helped me to get my life back on track and find myself again. She is very non-judgemental even if you have a mishap along the way and talks a lot of sense. She seems to know the right answer to whatever questions or problems you ask and really helps you to see the positives in things again. It’s a nice relief for me to know I’ve always now got someone like Jacqueline to talk too if I have any problems and I couldn’t recommend her more. Thanks again, you’re great!

Dear Jacqui,

Thank you for the patient and smiling help you've given me in the last two years. I am a much happier and settled person now than when we first met. I am now able to look at the future with confidence and excitement.

Dear Jacqueline,

I would like to thank you so much for all the help. Thanks to you I feel I am back on track again. I feel I can have a better life now.

Thank you so much for all your help and support, after my past experiences with my symptoms of panic and anxiety I found your help so valuable. I was finally able to understand what I was experiencing, your knowledgeable explanation about anxiety suddenly made sense and by listening to your guided relaxation and description of mindfulness will help me to practice at home. For the first time since the onset of my condition 18 months ago I feel I have been listened too and understood and that there is hope. Thank you.

Hi Jacqueline

I hope you are well. Seems like a long time ago when we would meet and talk. I am doing fine and looking forward. The meetings with you have really helped me and I reflect on the lessons learnt and material provided with other reading for reference to make and sustain changes in my life. I am feeling more comfortable with myself. I would like to thank you again and you will always be someone important to me.

Thank you for everything you are doing for me, I could never have got this far without your support, I am very grateful for everything. J

Just wanted to say thank you for all you help during a difficult period. I still get support from thinking about the strategies and advice you gave. I am still doing well, its coming up for 10 months since I had a drink and I think about it less and less, I have even joined weight watchers and lost a stone. Many thanks and very best wishes. ……………

I hope things are as well for you as they seem to be for me. Thank you so much for all your help last summer, I don’t know where I would be now if you hadn’t helped me. I will never forget it, and will forever be in you debt. Thinking of debt I was horrified to remember I didn't’t pay you for my last session in December please find Cheque enclosed. Thank you once again. …………………….

Jacqueline helped me through the most traumatic and difficult part of my life, and i was able to put my complete trust in her. She offered strategies and advice which showed me how to make sense of everything. Always received a warm welcome and was treated as an individual. My problems and anxieties were met with patience, compassion and understanding which gave me confidence to face life again. To spend time with Jacqueline helped me in so many ways. I shall always be grateful and will never forget her.

"

Jacqueline was extremely welcoming and supportive at a time when I just needed some guidance. After just a few sessions and an introduction to a new type of therapy, I feel a different person and ready to move forward again. I would highly recommend Jacqueline and am very grateful I found her'.
