Profile
I offer fast, effective and practical help using the Human Givens approach. I believe counselling should be a positive experience which uses a practical, problems solving approach, focusing on resolving your current issues by building on your own resources, enabling you to achieve your future goals.
I believe counselling should not dwell unduly on the past or use 'psychobabble' language. People are often surprised that longstanding issues can be improved relatively quickly with little or no distress. My aim is for you to leave each consultation feeling more calm, confident and in control, with the tools and skills you need to fulfil your potential.
I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2001 and since this time I have worked in a variety of health fields. Predominantly my experience has been within the mental health setting but I have also worked with clients with learning disabilities and physical health issues. I have enhanced CRB disclosure and I am happy to take NHS referrals.
I passed the Human Givens Diploma course with a distinction and I feel passionately about the benefits of the Human Givens approach. It combines the most effective skills and techniques with the most up-to-date psychological and scientifically-based knowledge, to relieve emotional distress and help you move on as quickly as possible. If you would like more information regarding the Human Givens method of counselling please see www.hgi.org.uk
I mainly work from my home based private practice, which is a 2 minute walk from Billingshurst train station but I am also willing to travel to see my clients within a 50 mile radius (additional cost and travel time will be reflected in the fee)
I am committed to helping you in as few a sessions as possible and empowering you to make those positive changes. I look forward to hearing from you.
