Why work with me?
Compassionate in my approach but dynamic in the results. My way of working is not only to help you feel heard but to work towards a place whereby life is much better and you can leave the past where it should be...in the past.
Due to the unique range of modalities I have embarked on in my professional career I see many clients embark and succeed on the journey to change. Throwing off shackles, feeling liberated and excited about the future. I walk with them. They do the hard work. The result is empowered, happy, resilient and resourceful clients.
As an integrative therapist my work is informed by the different modalities I have trained in to work in the best way for the clients needs, issues and concerns at any given time. My style of working will feel dynamic compared to other ways of working as I believe in taking clients from existing to living. To do this I work in an empathic, compassionate, honest and thought provoking way.
My role as a counsellor is to offer every client a unconditional, positive and confidential space to look at, work through and process what you wish to look at. to assist me with this process i 'blend' together, Parks Inner Child Therapy (see below) EMDR (see below), Hypnosis, Emotional Freedom Technique, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Person Centred, Solution Focussed, CBT and NLP bringing about change.
i work with a range of issues from stress through to ritual abuse. I am passionate about change and never cease to feel privileged that a client invites me into their private world so we can work together for a better way of living.
I also work with clients from a coaching and mentoring angle around challenges in the workplace to help address self sabotaging behaviours, address mindset and over come personal issues that may be being triggered at work.
Another aspect of my work is weight management (see below).
You can contact me via the email address provided whereby we can discuss which way forward would be best for you. I feel that face to face counselling is a preferred way of working with a client, however there are times when this proves difficult so the following mediums of communication are for discussion.
Counselling is available by:
- In person
- Instant messengers
- Facetime (for those with ipads etc)
PLEASE NOTE: Please check your junk mail when contacting me as I reply to every enquiry, if you cant see a reply it will be in your junk mail
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing is a phased treatment approach developed initially by Francine Shapiro (1989). This treatment approach has been extensively researched and has proven an excellent treatment path for trauma of every nature.
When trauma occurs the brain struggles to process the incoming information therefore traumatic events become 'frozen' and it replays as if it as if you are pressing a replay button on a DVD. EMDR can move these frozen memories by activating the brains natural processing abilities with great efficiency. Thus enabling a person to heal effectively overcoming their traumatic experience.
EMDR is quick (compared to other modalities) and safe. Just some of the issues I work with are;
Rape, sexual assault
Kidnap, Hostage situations
Low Self Esteem
Parks Inner Child Therapy
PICT is a powerful and versatile visualisation based 'stand alone' therapy model. It is an evolving form of cognitive therapy with a foundation in Transactional Analysis that incorporates aspects of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) to aid rapid response change. PICT is a relational approach reinforced by contemporary research in neuroscience.
Although PICT was originally created specifically to help people recover from the trauma and damage of sexual, physical, emotional and psychological abuse during childhood the tools within PICT are equally effective for a wide range of trauma issues.
PICT, although a 'talking therapy', is a directional model following a flexible structure always adapted to the client's individual needs. PICT is designed to assist people who have completed the 'unloading' process to move into the process of change work. A PICT therapist can facilitate the of loading process or deliver the PICT process as stand alone.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions
Weight gain is much more than over eating. When wanting to lose weight there are many aspects that need to be addressed mainly our emotional relationship with food and self sabotaging patterns of behaviour as well as looking at the types of food we crave gives an indicator to what needs to be addressed to enable us to have a stable and healthy weight which we can maintain.
I have designed a package of working with the mindset alongside an educational 3 programme to re set and re educate the system whilst working with me on your history, self sabotaging actions, cravings and creating a new pattern of behaviours using a combination of techniques.
As someone who has struggled with their weight all my life this enables me to have a deep understanding of the challenges weight gain and loss has on our emotional and physical well being.
Please contact me for more details.
