Profile
I am an independent counsellor with experience of working in private practice, within organisations and occupational health units.
I have particular experience in working with clients experiencing work-related issues such as stress, depression, bullying and harassment, depression and conflict in the workplace. I have written articles for the BACP Workplace journal `Counselling at Work' on issues to do with counselling and work.
I work from rooms in Stroud and Nailsworth and I have availability during the day and some evening appointments. I also offer appointments by Skype or telephone.
The sort of issues I can help with are listed below but include anxiety, depression, work-related issues including stress, bullying and harassment at work and managing conflict at work. I am interested in working with clients experiencing loss and life changing transitions such as bereavement, becoming a parent, divorce, post-natal depression and relationship difficulties. (I do not work with couples).
I undertook my counselling training at the University of Bristol combining this with my career in broadcasting at the BBC. Since then I have started my own private practice and work with individuals, teams and organisations as both a counsellor and a trainer.
My approach is humanistic and integrative. I use CBT if it feels therapeutically useful to do so. I work with clients using warmth and empathy to help you explore your issues safely, deepen understanding and work towards new ways of coping and experiencing more contentment in your life.
