Profile

I am an experienced BACP Accredited counsellor offering one-to-one and couples counselling for adults and young people in and around Reigate and Redhill, taking in Salfords, Horley, Crawley, Dorking, Godstone, Caterham and surrounding areas.

My experience of counselling in a number of different settings enables me to work with people of all ages and with a wide range of issues, problems, or difficulties in their lives, including anxiety, depression, confusion, and relationship issues.

Counselling sessions take place in a purpose-built garden office behind my home on the edge of Earlswood in Redhill.

The sessions are 50 minutes long and the number of sessions will vary from person to person. While one client may only need to come for, say, six or ten sessions, for others working over a period of several months or for a year or more would be more beneficial. When we meet for an initial appointment we can discuss the most suitable way forward.

With both adults and young people I use a variety of counselling methods depending on the needs of the individual. The overall style, though, is conversational and I usually listen more than I talk. You are, after all, the one who knows what your issues are and what you want to talk about. I need to listen if I am to help.

In our sessions you will have the opportunity to explore your feelings and what is going on in your life, to reflect on this, to come to understand yourself and your relationships more clearly, and to find a way forward that is right for you.

My aim is, through the counselling process, to help you to ease your distress and to become more fulfilled, content, and in control of your own life. In most cases, my clients and I achieve this aim.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

MSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy from the University of Surrey.
MBACP (Accredited)
UKRCP Registered

As well as counselling in my private practice, I worked for two and a half years as a counsellor in a GP practice in Redhill. I have also worked in Counselling Services in Redhill and Brighton, in a Further Education college and as a school counsellor.
