Julia Miles MBACP (Accred), UKRCP.

Profile

I am a qualified, registered psychodynamic counsellor/psychotherapist working privately in central North Oxford. I see individuals, face to face, on a short or long term basis.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

I have a postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Practice from the University of Oxford. I am MBACP (Accred)., and am registered with UKRCP.

For 25 years I worked both as a qualifed Social Worker, (in adoption, disability and generic family work), and also as a Probation Officer, during which time I did a short course in person centred counselling to enhance my practice, before embarking on professional psychodynamic training to become a counsellor.

I have wide experience as a counsellor/psychotherapist with a range of clients who have presented with a variety of problems. I have worked as a counsellor in two men's prisons, in a GP surgery, a psychiatric hospital, a women's service, a foreign nationals' counselling service in Greece, and for the Wantage Counselling Service, as well as privately.

I am currently contracted part time as a counsellor to an organisation specialising in rehabilitating drug and alcohol users.

I work to the BACP ethical standard. I undertake regular supervision and ongoing professional development. I am fully insured.
