About me

Are you depressed, angry,  suffering with overwhelming anxiety and wondering how you can carry on? Do you have relationship issues,  or have you been bereaved? Are you feeling low, sad and don't understand why you are feeling this way? Do you ask yourself,  "Is this is all life has to offer?" Today,  we live in a fast-paced, non-stop society, constantly striving for the next goal.  When do you have the space just to be? When do you truly have the time to understand and reflect on what is causing you anxiety and low mood? Is it time for you to do something about the way you are feeling?

"When there is a hill to climb, waiting won't make it smaller".    Anon.

If we don't change the way our situation is, then life will continue the way it is.

I am a very experienced therapist offering a supportive, confidential, caring and professional counselling service.  Where else in your life can you be listened to unconditionally and without judgement? This may be the time for you to help yourself . Therapy is an investment in your future. It helps you to understand why you feel the way you do and enable the desired change.

We can look on therapy  as if we are assembling a jigsaw.  We tip the pieces out of the box, look at them and begin to assemble the pieces back together.  We create the picture. We look at all the problems and stories that make up your life and slowly we make a pattern. We identify and work on any trauma, and together see the picture more clearly. We assemble the pieces to make your experiences and life into a more coherent picture. Therapy can help you decipher what is happening to you.  You gain the insights and learn ways of coping with your feelings and problems.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I have the life experience to support with empathy and understanding.  Therapy can be short-term or longer term for deep-seated issues.  It is a safe place to explore and learn to understand our reactions to life.

"At times in our life we need to press the Pause button and reflect. Where am I going and how do I want my life to be? Is this what I want and need to make me happy?"

Therapy can lead to more meaningful relationships and better paid jobs. We can gain more confidence, emotional satisfaction and become a better person.  It is cheaper than divorce because if we don't understand ourselves we keep making the same mistakes.

Please feel free to call me for a  15 mins chat. It is time to make that difference to your life. I know it is very hard to make that first step but once you have done that and had the initial meeting you can decide if therapy is right for you.

If I am unable to answer please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible. Emails and telephone calls are confidential and only answered by me.
