Profile

What I offer is person-centred counselling which provides the time and space to explore personal issues in a safe, confidential, supportive and non-judgemental setting. After many years working in various fields of communication, I came to realize that whatever age, gender or culture you are, whether you're a boss or an employee, a highly qualified professional or an unskilled labourer, a child or a parent we all need to feel heard. I believe suppressed feelings can manifest themselves in anxiety, depression and even physical illness. I believe we all have a need to acknowledge, understand and communicate our feelings and discover what we might change in order to feel less stressed and more content.

At any age we can come up against feelings and anxieties which influence the way we behave and so affect our lives. The process of talking in an open and honest environment with someone who listens without judgement or criticism can lead to clarity, insight and a sense of calm, allowing an opportunity for personal change.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

I achieved my professional qualification (post graduate diploma in counselling) from Aberdeen University. I have also successfully completed ACIS training, counselling young people, alcohol abuse training and am working towards BACP accreditation. I have experience counselling both adults and young people and currently work within a medical practice and a secondary school, as well as my private practice.
