At times, for any one of us, life can seem unmanageable as we struggle to make sense of our difficulties. We find ourselves becoming ‘stuck’ as we repeat outdated patterns of behaviour that leave us feeling depleted and frustrated. This can affect our relationships, work and home life causing conflict and upset. Coming to see a therapist can help make sense of what is happening. By confronting formative beliefs and behaviours some of which have no place in your adult life, you can begin to understand yourself on a deeper level.
During the counselling sessions you will be able to explore various aspects of your life and feelings whilst talking about them openly and freely in a way that is rarely possible with your family and friends. It isn’t always easy at first but given time you will begin to recognise your negative relating styles that have kept you tangled and unhappy.
As a qualified therapist, I understand that I am in a privileged position. One that requires trust and a willingness to truly understand what it is like to walk in another's shoes. Therefore I aim to always be sensitive and create a nurturing environment whereby you will never be made to feel judged or cross-examined.
Please feel free to call me as I am happy to discuss the counselling process and how we could work together. This also enables you to gain a sense of me as you begin that first very important step on your journey.

Until recently, as well as running my own private practice, I was a counsellor at Bucks MIND for three years. I gained much experience working alongside emotional and mental health issues and also those with problematic drug and alcohol use.
I was (prior to moving to Brighton) the associate counsellor for Phoenix Health Care in Buckinghamshire who provide psychiatric services for South Bucks and Oxfordshire. This is in association with the inpatient and day hospital services of Cardinal Clinic - an established leader in psychiatric care in the Thames Valley.
I work alongside several Employment Assistance Programme companies involving a broad section of client issues and models of working.
I work on an open-ended or time-limited basis with clients over the age of 18. It is very important that you feel safe with your counsellor in exploring what you want to bring so I suggest we meet for an initial session to decide whether it is right for you to work with me and indeed whether counselling is right for you now.
Please telephone or email me and I will contact you to arrange an initial consultation.
