About me

All of us experience difficulties, challenges, loss and bereavement at times in our lives that can leave us feeling distressed, helpless, lost or sad. As a qualified, BACP registered counsellor, with an open, warm and caring manner, I offer clients a safe space in which they can not only explore current concerns and difficulties but also address their fears,or hopes and wishes for the future. I also help clients explore past experiences if these seem to be keeping the client stuck in patterns of behaviour that are not helpful or useful to them any more.

As a person-centred counsellor, I believe that we all have the potential to create meaningful, fulfilling lives for ourselves, given the right environment and encouragement.
I work to a high ethical standard, am reliable and conscientious, and non-judgemental of the issues and challenges that we all have the potential to experience in our lives. I aspire to engage fully with clients, the conversations between us will be fully focussed on the clients concerns and experience, any silences will be respected as space for reflecting and thoughtfulness.

I also believe that it is the relationship between counsellor and client that is key in enabling a successful and creative outcome. It is important for the client to feel at ease with and able to confide in the counsellor for the counselling work to be effective and with this in mind, I offer a free initial "getting to know each other" session, enabling the client to get a sense of whether I would be the right counsellor for them.

I specialise in bereavement counselling with several years experience working with a local bereavement support agency. This on-going commitment, together with continuing professional development training, enables me to walk confidently and compassionately with clients on their unique grief journey, supporting and enabling bereaved clients to adjust to life after loss.

My practice, Kings Langley Counselling Practice and Bereavement Support, is based in the village of Kings Langley within easy distance of Abbots Langley, Chipperfield, Apsley, Hemel Hempstead and Watford.

Further information

I also facilitate therapy and support groups for bereaved clients. In certain instances, joining a group of people who have been through a similar, often life-changing experience, can be enormously helpful and therapeutic and also helps with the isolation a bereaved person can experience after the death of a loved one.
