About me

My name is Tony Novissimo and I am a accredited member of the BACP,(British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and i have been a practicing psychotherapist in London for the past twenty years. I am committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment.

I work with both individuals and couples on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period. My personal approach is to use Psycho-dynamic, Integrative, CBT, Person-Centered and Spiritual techniques. I aim to enable you to enhance your life and to live it more fully and happily.

I am experienced in helping clients who have difficulties with:

  • Stress or Anxiety Panic attacks
  • Depression Feeling sad and low
  • Anger Relationship issues
  • Identity issues Sexuality
  • Addiction or Eating disorders Bereavement and loss
  • Redundancy Corporate uncertainty

I believe that each one of us is valuable. Sadly though we may have come to doubt this in ourselves. Maybe we have often been told we are useless. You will work with me to rediscover who you really are and how you can come to the belief that you are a good person, of good value to society and loved.
You will work to return to that state where you can feel respected and honored. Where appropriate I will help you take a journey towards finding how to live in the present moment. This can help those who find their mind constantly filled with thoughts from the past or speculations of the future. Living in the present moment lets us find stillness and peace from the unending traffic of the mind.

Of recent years I am working with a growing number of clients on the Autism spectrum, and my work with these clients has been very effective and helpful. So often clients may be on the spectrum and yet may not know that this is their condition , and find it difficult to work out why they are as they are. With a diagnosis a great light is shone on the way they have been seeing the world.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
