Hello, my name is Marian, counsellor and owner of Nu Journeys Counselling which provides a counselling service for children and adults. I am an integrative counsellor which means I use various approaches depending upon the needs of the individual. I believe that the key is to create a therapeutic relationship with each and every client and to work in a way that most benefits their needs, for example goal setting, space to explore feelings, providing resources and book recommendations. My idea was to develop an affordable and accessible service and this is reflected in my fees. I want to provide a space for individuals to discuss what is impacting upon their lives and then together, we can hopefully find solutions. I also provide supervision to counsellors.
I have been a counsellor since 2009. I have also facilitated personal development groups previously and hope to do so again in the future. I believe that with support, people have the inner strength to overcome any difficulty in life. I am passionate about most things including personal development, meditation and positive thinking and this is reflected in all areas of my life.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I have a certificate of proficiency and working towards accreditation.
