Charlotte Thompson - Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist UKCP
I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and I have been working as a psychotherapist and counsellor for over 15 years, in private practice, GP surgeries and for counselling charities.
Everyone who comes for psychotherapy brings their own very personal history and experience of life and my aim is to help you make sense of the difficulties you may be facing. Briefly, psychoanalytic therapy helps us to understand why we feel and act as we do, increasing our self-awareness and enabling us to find more effective ways of dealing with the challenges we are facing now.
Normal sessions last for 50 minutes but I offer first appointments of 1.5 hours, which gives us both time to think about whether this form of therapy might be right for you.
I also work as a psychoanalytic supervisor.
My practice is 2 miles outside Fordingbridge within easy reach of Salisbury, Southampton and Bournemouth.
