Profile
I am a fully qualified, integrative Counsellor and a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I offer a confidential & safe environment for you to work in and unload issues which inhibit you in leading the life to which you aspire. I offer integrity and warmth, am non-judgemental and effective.
As a qualified Counsellor and member of BACP I am required to attend ongoing training which is of benefit to the clients and adds to my personal development.
I have worked in the voluntary sector as a Counsellor for 8 years and have also worked as a Samaritan. I am currently working in a hospice taking Doctors' referrals.
I have had lots of life experiences for example bereavements, a life threatening illness as well as the worries and anxieties that are all part of life. I have emerged from these difficult experiences having the advantage of being helped by my four years of counsellor training needed to be a qualified counsellor, so you can feel assured that I too may have experienced some of what you are going through.
Sometimes it is difficult to talk to friends and family, an outside perspective is maybe needed. At times people feel we are over an incident, and we find it difficult to continue to re-visit it. And sometimes its just toopainful to talk about. At times we want to talk and be listened to but most importantly we want to be heard.
At present, I have my own private practice offering 1-to-1 work, short and long-term, on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
I work in a person centred way where you will be treated respectfully, not judged and confidentiality assured. Alongside this I use solution focused and cognitive behavioural therapy.
