Profile

I am openminded and highly experienced with over 20 years professional work in confidential counselling and psychotherapy. I have worked with the NHS, with major employee services and MIND as well as privately.

ABOUT THERAPY

Counselling and psychotherapy is a process of sense-making. It helps people deal with conflicting ideas or feelings in themselves, with others or with the outside world.

Troublesome conflicts are often at least partly sub-conscious and may appear to you in the form of:

• Physical symptoms such as anxiety, body tension or panic attacks

•Emotional symptoms such as fear, depression or anger

•Behavioural symptoms such as avoiding places or people, obsessional or repetitive actions, aggression

Therapy with myself assists your learning to properly identify this struggle. Most often the problem then begins to disappear as once we have an awareness of our symptoms we begin to more fully understand and accept the impact on us and to naturally take charge of our lives. If it persists, deeper therapy may be necessary to start consciously translating symptoms.

I work within the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy which maintains a high standard of clinical practice.
