I offer individual counselling, 'a safe space to be heard' without judgement, to work at your pace exploring your issues.
I am a qualified Practitioner in Therapeutic Counselling, and a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I attend supervision to ensure ethical safety and beneficence. I attend training sessions keeping up to date within my practice.
WHAT HAPPENS IN COUNSELLING?
Counselling is about it being the clients time and space to explore issues in a safe, constuctive and confidential environment.
As everyone is unique, I integrate different methods of counselling to give clients a creative space to acknowledge their issues. Some clients like to talk, some like to use art materials, some like to explore their past, some like to work on future goals.
HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?
Each session is 50 minutes long. The initial session is 60 minutes.
WHERE ARE YOU?
I have a private practice currently based in Littleover, 2 mins walk from the village shops and also work in the city from a reputable Centre 2 mins walk from the West field shopping mall.
CAR PARKING SPACE?
At my practice in Littleover there is space to park your car on the drive.
At the Centre there is street parking with parking metres.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I GET THERE.
When arriving at my private practice all you need to do is knock on the door and either my self or another practitioner will happily show you in straight into the session. There is currently no waiting area apart from outside so although I encourage punctuality for each session please do not attend early.
At the Centre just ring the big speaker buzzer at the side of the front door. Someone from reception will show you in. You will be asked to sign in the book for fire safety reasons but you do not need to give your full name. There is a waiting area with kitchen and toilet facilities available should you want to make your self a drink.
I am aware it is useful to work with a therapist you feel comfortable with so take your time and find A COUNSELLOR THAT SUITS YOU.

INITIAL SESSION £35.00 This session is usually to establish if counselling is the approriate pathway for you and to establish our future work together.
ONGOING SESSIONS £35.00 Sessions are usually weekly or fortnightly at the same time and same day with some flexibility around this.
NEED TO CHANGE DATES AND TIMES? If you can give suitable notice of this, if possible, we can rearrange the next session.
STRUGGLING FINANCIALLY? Low cost sessions available
HOW TO PAY? All payments for sessions are received at the beggining of each session or in advance by cheque. At present sessions can be paid by cash or cheque.
MISSED SESSIONS? All missed sessions are payable.
