About me
N.B: I am currently offering remote sessions only which are usually via video link but if you do not feel comfortable with that, then we can just use audio.
I am a psychotherapist, counsellor and clinical supervisor and have been practising for 24 years. I am able to work with a variety of issues including: depression, anxiety, work issues, relationship problems, bereavement/loss, eating disorders ,self harm, self- esteem, and help both adult and adolescent clients from 14 years upwards. I see clients for both short term and long term work.
I currently work at the City of London School for Girls as a student counsellor and have worked for the NHS as a primary care counsellor in GP practices and as a counselling assessor in an agency setting for 20 years; where I also undertook some training and supervision for the trainee counsellors.
I have worked with students and was the in house counsellor for both staff and students at Mander Portman Woodward for 7 years; a college situated in South Kensington and have done some sessional work at UCL. I was also a clinical supervisor at MIND in Fulham and Hackney: where I supervised the work, in groups, of some of the trainee therapists and I was also in post as the Clinical Coordinator for the low cost therapy service at The Minster Centre; a psychotherapy training organisation based in Queens Park.
I hold a Diploma in clinical supervision and see both trainee and professional therapists for supervision.
Training, qualifications & experience
I graduated from Regent's College with a Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Counselling in 1998.
I am an MBACP Accredited therapist and UK registered practitioner and I adhere to the BACP code of ethics.
I have a Diploma in clinical supervision.
I ensure ongoing professional development by undertaking courses and workshops and having supervision on a regular basis.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Counselling is fundamentally a safe space in which you can begin to explore feelings and issues, which are affecting and possibly holding you back in your life. As a therapist, I am not going to judge you or give you direct advice but I might make suggestions or help you to look at things from a different perspective. I will also be able to help you work through your issues until you are able to come to your own conclusions and perhaps enable you to make decisions that could improve your life. We might also explore how your childhood has impacted on your adult life and focus on any patterns that may continue to be repeated but are not helpful. I also incorporate some other ways of working into the therapy if I feel that it would benefit the client e.g. I might perhaps use some cognitive tools in order to alleviate anxiety and panic attacks.
