About me

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).  I am also registered with the Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC).  I am also accredited as a cognitive behavioural therapist with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP).

I provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for adults. I also provide Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I also work systemically and  provide couples counselling and family therapy.

I offer supervision to CBT therapists and trainee clinical or counselling psychologists.  I am on the BPS register of approved supervisors.

I speak Slovak language.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Practitioner Doctorate (PsychD) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Surrey and a First Class Honours degree (BSc Hons) in Psychology from Brunel University. I am listed in the BPS Directory of Chartered Psychologists: http://www.bps.org.uk/bps/e-services/find-a-psychologist/register.cfm.  I am also listed in the register of CBT therapists (www.babcp.com)

My experience to date involve working with adults and young people with a range of psychological and personality difficulties in the NHS, mainly in outpatient settings. I have also worked on an inpatient rehabilitation ward with people with severe enduring mental health problems including psychosis and personality disorders. I have delivered group therapeutic interventions such as Anxiety Management and Low Self-esteem Groups.

I have experience in conducting a whole range of psychometric assessments. In addition, I worked with children and also with people with learning disabilities. Therefore, I am experienced to work with people of various ages across their lifespan and with people of diverse intellectual functioning.

In my last post, I worked as a therapist for Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Talking Therapies service as a therapist and team lead for IAPT Newbury.

In my private practice, apart from delivering individual CBT, my work is informed by systemic and psychodynamic models and I also work with couples and families.

I can offer supervision to CBT therapists, trainee clinical psychologists, assistant psychologists and newly qualified clinical psychologists.

I provide one-off consultations, short-term (up to 8 sessions) and longer-term therapy. The length of your treatment will depend on the complexity of your difficulties and your therapeutic goals. The first session is dedicated to an initial assessment of your difficulties. In our initial assessment session we explore why you decided to pursue therapy, what are your expectations of having therapy and what you would like to achieve by the end of your therapy. Therapeutic relationship is paramount in order to make changes and feel safe in therapy.  Therefore, there is no obligation to engage in treatment after assessment, if you do not feel that we can work well together to achieve progress.

Self-referrals: £85 per session for assessment and treatment for 50 minute long sessions
