Profile
I provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for adults and adolescents. I also provide couples counselling. I offer supervision to CBT therapists and trainee clinical or counselling psychologists.
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). I am also registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC). I am also accredited as a cognitive behavioural therapist with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP).
Training, Qualifications & Experience
I have a Practitioner Doctorate (PsychD) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Surrey and a First Class Honours degree (BSc Hons) in Psychology from Brunel University. I am listed in the BPS Directory of Chartered Psychologists: http://www.bps.org.uk/bps/e-services/find-a-psychologist/register.cfm. I am also listed in the register of CBT therapists (www.babcp.com)
My experience to date involve working with adults and young people with a range of psychological and personality difficulties in the NHS, mainly in outpatient settings. I have also worked on an inpatient rehabilitation ward with people with severe enduring mental health problems including psychosis and personality disorders. I have delivered group therapeutic interventions such as Anxiety Management and Low Self-esteem Groups.
I have experience in conducting a whole range of psychometric assessments. In addition, I worked with children and also with people with learning disabilities. Therefore, I am experienced to work with people of various ages across their lifespan and with people of diverse intellectual functioning.
My last post was working for Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust in a Community Mental Health Team. I provided assessments and therapeutic interventions for adults aged 18-65 who presented with a range of mental health problems.
In my current post, I work as a therapist for Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Talking Therapies service and I am also a team manager for Newbury. I am responsible for organising referrals and delivering CBT interventions, mainly for depression and anxiety disoders.
In my private practice, apart from delivering individual CBT, my work is informed by systemic and psychodynamic models and I also work with couples and families.
