Carmen Joanne Ablack (UKCP Registered)
0208 888 6010
UKCP accredited & registered Integrative and Body Psychotherapist, Supervisor & Trainer
Couples and relationship therapy and individual and group supervision; individual therapy waiting list;
25+ years experience.
I practice in North London (N8) and in the City (EC2). In the Hornsey and Turnpike Lane areas of North London I am offering relationship/ couple and group psychotherapy, clinical and non-managerial supervision and coaching services. I do not have individual client spaces currently available.
I offer clinical and non-managerial supervision, mediation, coaching training and development services in EC2 - near to Old Street, Moorgate, Liverpool Street tubes and a bus ride from Angel. (The fees for EC2 are slightly higher due to room costs.)
My clinical approach is integrative and integral-relational body-mind psychotherapy. My methods and attitude actively engage your experience and are aimed at opening up dialogue and learning through the use of a wide and creative array of therapeutic interventions and psychologically depthfull understandings; these include here and now methodologies from integrative psychotherapy, body psychotherapy, gestalt psychology and psychotherapy and existential understandings, amongst other influences from psychodynamic and analytic fields of study.
In my work as a therapist and supervisor I am paying attention to empathic understanding and learning through paying attention to therapy relationship dynamics.
I invite clients to regularly review your experience of engaging in our therapeutic relationship. As a practitioner I believe the main outcome measure is how much you feel and experience what we are doing or have done is having an overall positive and helpful impact on your sense of self and your ability to engage in a more authentic and meaningful way with yourself, with others and with the wider world. My approach pays attention to your various contexts of existence (systemic understandings) and your ability to integrate our work together into meaningful wholes (existential and construct psychologies).
Compatibility and risk
I hold this consideration as an important ethical stance as a psychotherapist and as a responsible professional working with members of the public.
I will look at any potential risks for you from working within my approach, for example some forms of intervention may not be suitable for you, and thus my therapeutic work will be adapted to meet your specific needs. However, should risk and compatibility assessment show that a different approach or therapist may be of more benefit for you currently, then I will discuss this with you and support you to find a therapist who can meet your needs.

Psychotherapy, counselling and supervision:
I have a sliding scale of fees and the client chooses where they will pay on the scale. That choice becomes the agreed fee. In addition I have a set reduced fee for all trainees and students of £55; this includes students on non-therapy courses of study.
I work a 60 minute hour for psychotherapy and supervision. Sessions are normally weekly for psychotherapy, but adjustments can be made to accommodate long distances, circumstances etc.
Couples and relationship therapy is usually a 90 minute session, and can be once, twice or three times a month.
