Profile

I am a BACP Accredited counsellor/psychotherapist working in Pembrokeshire. I have experience of working with a wide range of issues.  My specialist areas are trauma, addiction, abuse and bereavement.  I am able to work on either a short term or longer term basis, as appropriate.

My approach is based on Psychosynthesis, which is concerned with the realisation of unique individual potential and the harmonisation of all elements of the personality including the body, mind, emotions and spirit. I am one of a small number of therapists in the UK trained in the use of Lifespan Integration which is an intervention devised in the USA for resolving trauma quickly, safely and effectively.  I prefer to adapt my method of working to suit individual clients. My view is that no issue is too trivial, too great or too small.

I have experience of working as a counsellor in an NHS setting, and I have worked as a counsellor for specialist services for both sexual abuse and bereavement. I also teach counselling for a South Wales University.

My private practice is in a purpose-built private consulting room at my home in Pembrokeshire.  There is ample parking available.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

MA Psychotherapy
Post Graduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling and Therapy
Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP Accred)
Lifespan Integration
MBA, BA (Hons)

My professional background is in Human Resources and Management Training. It was through this work that I developed an appreciation for the human desire for self-actualisation, and an awareness of how easily the human spirit can be damaged by an environment that does not respect the uniqueness of each individual. My experience of working in both Human Resources and Education has been particularly useful for clients with work-related and/or personal development issues.

Therapies Offered

Fees

£35 per hour

I am able to offer a small number of places at concessionary rates available for clients on a low income or in receipt of benefits.  Please do enquire if this would make therapy more affordable.

Further Information

I offer an initial consultation to enable prospective clients to decide whether my way of working is right for them.  This also gives me an opportunity to decide whether I can offer a prospective client help appropriate for their needs.  If I feel that I am not the right therapist for a client, then I offer a recommendation to another therapist and/or service.
