I am MBACP accredited, UKRCP Registered Independent Counsellor. I obtained my humanistic counselling diploma in 2001, and have since completed training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for the Treatment of Trauma (Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute, USA). I have extensive experience of working with diverse clinical issues including: recovery from childhood sexual abuse and/or sexual violation in adulthood, relationship problems, eating distress, addiction, stress, psychological trauma, depression, self injury, mental health issues & low self esteem/worth.
My clinical approach is integrative. I believe that, as much psychological distress has its origins in relationship, healing will better occur within a therapeutic relationship, for this reason I work at relational depth.
I am committed to my professional development and as such I attend regular clinical supervision to support my client work. I also attend workshops, trainings and conferences on a regular basis.
I offer a free initial (up to 30 minutes) meeting with potential clients; this meeting gives us a chance to meet face to face and explore your individual needs.
I am a qualified group worker and I am currently co-facilitating weekend workshops, aimed at women to help raise their self-awareness, self-esteem and self-confidence. The groups aim is to support women to look at themselves and ask "Who Am I?" within a 'safe enough' environment. We will look at what influences individuals, both current and historic and how each person functions within relationships. The next dates for the workshop are 3rd & 4th December. Cost £99 for the weekend.

Further Information
I have worked as a counsellor within a voluntary organisation (rape crisis) for 10 years full-time.
I have extensive experience of planning and running groups. For the past 8 years I have facilitated two groups of telephone help-line volunteers. I also ran the training and selection process for recruiting new telephone helpline volunteers.
