Profile
As a professional Integrative Counsellor I am passionate about my counselling practice. I offer warm, confidential work with individuals and couples in Plymouth PL3 or Tavistock. This may be short or long-term depending on your needs. Please visit my website www.wecounsel.co.uk for more information.
As an Integrative Humanistic Counsellor I have studied many ways of dealing with issues that arise, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and adapt the way I work to your individual and personal needs. I believe our relationship is the most important element in the counselling space. My approach is to be guided by you keeping language jargon-free, welcoming, loving and sincere so that the experience feels comfortable and right for you.
I believe counselling can help you lead a happier life by a gentle journey of self-discovery to maximise your potential. I want you to feel free to speak openly, honestly and with confidence. I want to engage with you and for you to feel valued and understood for who you are.
I firmly believe that change is possible for you. My experience has been in areas of low self esteem, stress, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, relationship issues, eating disorders, bereavement and loss, anger management, issues of identity and sexuality, postnatal depression, addiction, relationship issues, couples counselling and life crisis. I recently attended a two day conference on Treatment Resistant Depression which has been inspirational learning for me helping those who do not want to take medication.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
I have worked with people all my life, spending many years in Financial Institutions and understanding the pressures/stress of this type of work and the need for maintaining a sense of humour. Latterly I have been working within the NHS in Dental and Medical practices in the SW. I now work in private practice and have two comfortable rooms with disabled access and parking within walking distance of the centre of Plymouth and also of Tavistock.
