Ani de la Prida , Counselling & Psychotherapy MA, registered MBACP, PCATA
I work with adults, children, young people and couples. I believe that every person is individual, and has the potential to fully realise their unique qualities. My intention is to provide a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space for us to explore the issues affecting you. I'll support you so you can discover your own inner resources and the best way forward for you to heal or change.
I am a therapist and art counsellor, and I can work in a variety of ways, for example with art or guided visualisations, and am happy to explain or explore with you if you would like to use this way of working. Expressing thoughts or feelings as an image on paper can be a very quick way of accessing and exploring hidden or painful feelings. You do not need to have any special skills or be good at art or drawing
I work in a bright and friendly room, offering both long and short term counselling. I have over 15 years experience of working with people from all walks of life with all types of issues and problems.
I have particular experience with issues such as addiction, sexual abuse, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties and stress. I also work with people who wish to explore issues such as their life direction, self esteem, confidence, or for personal development.
I have a special interest and additional training in working with children and young people, art therapy, play therapy and creative ways of working.
I am based in the town centre, a short walk from Brentwood Station. I am approximately 10 mins drive from the M25 and I have parking available. I can also offer Saturday appointments.
As a member of BACP I abide by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy which can be found at www.bacp.co.uk/ethical_framework.
I am happy to have a chat on the phone if you have any questions.
I cannot always answer my phone, but please do leave a message and a number that I can reach you on and I will return your call as soon as I can. Alternatively you can email me and I will contact you as soon as I can, usually within 24 hours.
I also offer clinical supervision to counsellors.
