Profile

I set up Being Centre in 2003 as an accessible, professional and highly confidential, Psycho-therapeutic Counselling Support Centre for Adults, Young people and Children. My aim is for the wellbeing of the family, recognising that each family member can be impacted by another. Being Centre affords a safe and confidential environment for people to look at possibilities for change.

My areas of expertise and specialisms are in different areas of counselling including:

Couples counselling, adoption, anger management, relationships issues, abuse, bereavement, psycho-sexual issues, addictions, personality disorders, anxiety and stress, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), sexual issues, child related issues, career counselling, low self-esteem / confidence, bullying and harassment, phobias, post and pre termination / abortion counselling, CBT, sexuality, work related issues, trauma, and body issues.

Alongside counselling support in person, I recognise that this arrangement may not always be suitable for everyone. Therefore I offer both online and telephone counselling support, depending on each individual clients needs.

I have a wide range of contractual experience, working alongside local and regional health authorities, along with CAMHS, GP surgeries, and other agencies over the past 25 years.

I was instrumental in developing Surrey Drug and Alcohol Care's services, and furthering their service to include a Single Point of Contact for professionals and substance users, their families, colleagues and friends in Surrey. I have developed the training package working towards DANOS Standards. I have implemented the training of volunteers for the Help line for the past 10 years and continue to do so twice yearly. I was Chairperson for 3 years. I have since set up a pilot scheme with Surrey Drug and Alcohol Care for a Telephone Counselling Service which is a highly successful way to engage those clients who find it difficult to access or engage in counselling services in person.

I worked with Beatbullying on a cyber pilot scheme for young people who have or are, experiencing bullying. This was enabled through a one to one basis on line through the beetbullying web site.

I worked for 3 years with a colleague in West Sussex, designing, developing and implementing a counselling service for young people and their resident carer, who had or were experiencing the affects of living with domestic violence.

I subscribe to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy code of ethics. (BACP).
