I am a fully qualified therapeutic counsellor with 13 years experience in private practice. As an Integrative Therapist, I draw my work from the Transpersonal ( Psychosynthesis) Humanistic, Existential, Rogerian, Psychodynamic, CBT, Mindfulness, Psychoenergetic and Holistic approaches.
A great emphasis is placed on the building of the therapeutic relationship between the client and myself. In this manner, a safe haven is created for the client to explore themselves, learn how to self-reflect, cultivate self-compassion and ultimately, learn how to make wiser and healthier decisions in their lives.
The aim of Integrative Psychosynthesis counselling is to facilitate the transformation of the conflicts and obstacles that block one's inherent sense of harmony within. In other words, this Integrative approach is designed to help individuals reconnect to a sense of meaning and purpose in their lives, which is so essential to a sense of well-being.
Suffering and distress often arise as a result of living our lives according to outmoded patterns of thinking and behaving that no longer serve us and which thus become obstacles to both growth and inner peace.
You may feel stuck, depressed, angry, melancholic, experience relationship or professional difficulties, anxious....this list is by no means exhaustive.
I will seek to help you identify and transform such obstacles as a way of moving towards your deeper Self and highest potential. To assist this exploration, I will at times invite guiding techniques - imagery, dreamwork, Gestalt role-play, meditation or drawing - which can harness the potential for healing and thus help restore meaning and purpose in your life. At other times, I will listen your story actively ( reflecting back to you, helping you look at the underlying psycho-dynamics) always with care, respect and compassion.
My approach is hence greatly influenced by the Integrative Psychosynthesis model which is designed to include all aspects of the individual combining psychological/physical/spiritual concerns in a creative approach to personal growth.
An initial session will be an opportunity to discuss what you would like to explore and hope to achieve as well as being an opportunity for us to meet and see if we could work together.
