Further Information
More about some of the therapies I offer...
Behavioural Family Therapy (BFT) is an evidence-based, effective and practical skills-based approach in which therapist and family members work together to promote, Positive communication, Problem-solving skills, Coping skills, Stress reduction and achievement of individual goals.
Using a practical here-and-now approach, BFT is also an excellent support for Carers and families. Through Knowledge acquisition (such as spotting early warning signs) families’ may better support a loved one suffering from long term illness, severe depression and other long term disorders. Conversely, as a client experiencing long term illness or disorder you may wish to communicate how your condition affects you and those around you which can lead to better understanding and communication
**Minimum of 3 family member’s per session maximum of 5. The programme consists of 12 sessions of 90 minutes duration. A short course of 6 sessions may be suitable, this would be determined during the initial assessment when your family’s needs are taken into account.
*Counselling Young People* CCYP
My work extends to working therapeutically with young people 13-17 years. Using brief C.B.T ACT & BFT therapy techniques and materials, I help young people to communicate their feelings, adopt new coping strategies and overcome a wide range of issues including feelings of anger fear, frustration, confusion, low confidence/self esteem etc. Furthermore, I have helped many young people to explore their feelings following family breakdown re-marriage of a parent, step siblings, shared care/contact, fostering, adoption etc. If you are worried about your young person please do get in touch with me to discuss therapy options.
Note: under 16s* parental consent required, practitioner safeguarding measures in place to ensure best practice, including ISA /CRB Certificate & insurance.
