Profile

I provide supportive ~ Brief Counselling, Counselling, Psychotherapy and Analysis. See my website for full descriptions of these approaches.

This is a co-operative adventure in the spirit of finding oneself and becoming able to manage one's problems and life ~ in a satisfactory and rewarding way.

If you are looking to find a counsellor or psychotherapist, it might further help to know that I also use the widely researched insights of Attachment Theory to faciliate the understandings of one's relationship issues ~ relationships in the present and where appropriate from the past (as sometimes is necessarily the case ~ to varying degrees) ~ thus further facilitating the work as a counsellor and psychotherapist.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

I have a Master of Arts in Psychotherapy and Counselling (accredited City University London). This offers an integrative approach to counselling at various levels ~ drawing on different theories and models as seen as appropriate to the particular needs of the client.

I am also a qualified Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist focusing on the Attachment Theory approach to this work - registered with the UKCP in 1994.

Here we can look at issues at a deeper level ~ conducted in a carefully supportive atmosphere and at one's own pace.

In 1986, I was co-founder and later co-ordinator of a small residential therapeutic community in London (a registered charity) ~ where people stay long term whilst working on their issues ~ by way of a community based approach.
