Profile
Have you come to a point where you really need to talk and be supported through the changes you want to make? I offer therapy to individuals, couples and family groups involving short or long term work to meet your needs. My professional experience covers different organisations eg. Cruse Bereavement, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Social Services Family Placement Teams, Youth Counselling and private practice.
WHERE?
Choice of venue in central Cardiff or Brecon. Both locations are quiet, pleasant, easy to find with good parking availability, bus services and easy access.
HOW THERAPY CAN HELP?
If you are experiencing grief, depression, anxiety, anger, stress, confusion, low self esteem, couple or family conflict and problems at work therapy will help you cope with the emotions and find ways through challenging situations and difficulties. You may be affected and want to resolve memories of past experiences such as physical or mental abuse and trauma.
It offers the opportunity to talk in a confidential and safe environment and the space to reflect, increase self and relational awareness and understanding.
If you come as a couple or family group I can facilitate a safe environment where everyone can put forward their point of view and listen to the others. I am qualified to work with children and young people and have appropriate Criminal Record Checks.
Thinking about ways to move forward may involve exploring issues from the past as well as present concerns and involve thinking about strategies and goals that work for everyone involved. By focusing on strengths and abilities you can work towards creating more positive and effective ways of thinking, feeling and communicating.
Whether I work with an individual, a couple or members of a family group we can talk together about issues which may be complex, stressful, painful and have begun to feel unsolvable. At these times it is helpful to think about patterns of thoughts or behaviour which may have become set over time and are no longer working. Often just a small change can make a difference.
I believe that the valuable and differing views and perspectives brought to these conversations help find new ways forward. This can improve and strengthen relationships, build confidence and change perspectives. I take into account the diverse environments in which people live and work, along with their religious and cultural beliefs.
I comply with my professional associations ethical rules and regulations and keep up to date with training.
I recently received following message from a client:
'Thank you for your help over this traumatic time in my life - your perception and feedback has moved me on hugely'.
