I am an experienced therapeutic counsellor with previous experience in an NHS setting. I work with adults both in private practice and as a volunteer for SAGE (supporting female survivors of sexual abuse).
My current base is at Lupton House, Brixham, off the A3022.
I prefer to work with whatever issue is uppermost at each session; offering a safe, non-judgemental space in which to explore your difficulties and work towards resolution.
Sessions are 1 hour and preferably weekly, whether counselling is short term or long term.
After an initial assessment, should you wish to continue, we would agree times/dates for meeting, confidentiality, commitment, and means of communication.
I would review with you periodically.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
I qualified as a Counsellor in 2006 with the (CPCAB Level 4) Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling: a Gestalt-based course.
I retired from mental health work in 2002, after 13 years experience in this field; (having previously worked as childcare social worker and a teacher, plus raising a family).
In 1990 I completed a foundation course in psychodynamic psychotherapy; then undertook further training, including psycho-analytical observational studies of infants and young children.
I completed marriage guidance training (Relate) in the 1980's -working partime as a volunteer Relate counsellor for 6 years.

I am a member of BACP and BASW and I abide by the BACP Code of Ethics.
I hold a CRB disclosure form and I have regular supervision.
From M5: follow the ring road to Torquay, Paignton, then Brixham. Lupton House is located on A3022, Brixham Road, Churston Ferrers. At Churston look for white lodges with big gates. Drive down driveway and park in front. Ample room for parking.
