Profile
During the counselling process I hope to facilitate a trusting and caring space for us to work together.
I work both short-term in a motivational/solution focussed CBT manner which aims to work with you to help you think about troubling situations and circumstances in a problem-solving, task-orientated way and longer-term integratively, which is more about helping you to explore and gain insight and awareness into how the past presents itself in current situations.
Throughout counselling regular reviews compliment and maintain new alternative ways of thinking about different situations. Consistently being able to experience seeing things from an alternative point of view contributes to your ability to promote a reflexive way of looking at your thoughts, feelings and ideas. In this way you can learn to pattern the changes you have made so far in a continuous, decisive and active way beyond the counselling relationship.
