Profile

I am an Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist with extensive experience of working in both long and short term models. I work with individuals and couples. I originally began practising in the volentary sector and then for the NHS and then in Private Practise.

When you first contact me I always suggest that we make an initial appointment. This gives me the opportunity to hear about you and why you are looking for support at this time. It gives you the opportunity to meet me and to get a feel of how I work.

I aim to provide a warm and safe environment in which you can talk freely about your situation. We will take time to reflect on your situation and look at the best way forward for you at this time. If you think I am the right person for you to work with we can decide how to proceed from here. I am also happy to refer you to other services and practitioners if we dont feel that my way of working is right for you.

There are many different models of counselling which can feel quite confusing when looking for a counsellor. Do please ask me any questions you may have about this. My core model is psychodynamic and it is this theoretical understanding which underpins my thinking, however I have undertaken training in many other areas and therefore draw upon many different tecniques in my work. Using this combined approach can help us to find the best way forwards for you.
