Counsellor Profile

Do you struggle with such things as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, loss, or feelings of meaninglessness? Counselling can help with these issues and many more.

In the context of a safe and confidential conselling relationship, difficulties can be explored to enable a deeper understanding and acceptance of ourselves, often leading to an experience of our true identity and the discovery of meaning and purpose, and opening to our ability to love.

For some people just a few sessions is all that is required for them to feel able to continue with their lives, others will need a longer period of sessions in order to work at a deeper level and perhaps resolve issues from the past before being able to move on. Psychosynthesis is a suitable counselling method in either case.

As well as talking, during our sessions I may use drawing, imagery, meditation, guided visualisation and body work and dance.

I am a mature woman living in Dorset, and I have a wealth of experience of working with people of all ages in a variety of settings.

I am in private practice in Gillingham, Dorset.

Training, Qualifications & Experience (more info)

I trained with the Psychosynthesis and Education Trust in London and have my counselling diploma with them through the University of East London. Psychosynthesis is a holistic approach to counselling, taking into account mind, body and spirit. Psychosynthesis is sometime referred to as 'a psychology with a soul'. (Jean Hardy)

I have experience with counselling people with, among other things, anxiety, depression, stress, addictions and with bereavement.

I am also a nurse and midwife.

I abide by the BACP's code of ethics, and am currently working towards accreditation with the BACP.
