Kim Parish MA, UKCP Registered Psychotherapist, MBACP ( Accred.)

Profile

As a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist I offer one to one therapy sessions with adults and young people who may be experiencing difficulties within their lives such as stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, life changes, personal and family relationship issues, bereavement, addictions or anything that they feel might be having an impact on their emotional and psychological wellbeing.

I strongly believe that all issues that people may bring are of equal importance and I feel that counselling is for anyone who feels they are in a difficult place in their lives and might have a need for some help from someone who is not involved personally and can therefore give honest and non-judgemental support.

As a psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor I work with the issues that people bring with the belief that sometimes past experiences may influence present ones and these can be looked at using a reflective and interpretative process. I provide a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment in which myself and my client can work together to look at how best to deal with their problems. I offer both short and long term counselling with an initial assessment in which I can establish my client's needs for future therapeutic work. The importance of a trusting relationship between counsellor and client is paramount in my work and provides the base from which therapy begins.

I abide by the UKCP and BACP Code of Ethics and hold professional indemnity insurance.
