Counsellor Profile
A highly experienced UKCP registered psychotherapist, I have practised as a psychotherapist for seventeen years. I also have extensive, ongoing experience teaching and supervising psychotherapy and counselling to MSc level. My background is in mental health.
My approach to therapy is relational and I think it is important to respond to the whole person, as well as to the ‘obvious’ difficulties. I draw on a range of approaches according to each person’s particular needs. These include Transactional Analysis, attachment-based psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and Gestalt.
I work with individuals and couples and I offer both brief focussed and / or more long-term and in-depth work according to specific need.
I am a BUPA recognised provider of counselling and psychotherapy.
I am a member of the Northern Guild for Psychotherapy (a member organisation of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy). My Codes of Ethics and Practice (NGP) provide a confidential, ethical and accountable framework.
