About me

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist with rooms in Rodney Street Liverpool where I specialise in facilitating change that people would other wise find difficult to make on their own within a safe environment.

Issues and problems are a natural part of life and through personal counselling and psychotherapy I support people in improving their emotional wellbeing, breaking old habits and introducing new coping strategies, developing new skills to make successful life changes.

I am fully insured, and a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by their code of ethics. I work both short and long term with individuals. I offer Counselling in a safe environment for you to explore and express your issues, concerns and fears, past or present.

How can counselling help?

I provide one to one, couple and group counselling where I tailor my services to meet your individual needs and circumstances through enabling people to manage their lives in a more effective and productive way allowing you to live your life the way you want to live.

For many people counselling is an opportunity (often for the first time) to talk about and explore issues in a safe and non-judgemental space. Building a professional relationship with the right counsellor can be very rewarding and lead to greater self awareness.

People consider having counselling for a variety of reasons; it could be due to depression, bereavement, anxiety, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem as well as many other issues.

I am a qualified Hypnotherapist. Hypnotherapy is widely used for weight loss, stopping smoking and psychosomatic disorders such as anxiety, which is an emotional state which actually produces physical symptoms.

Hypnotherapy can help with any problem you're finding hard to handle on your own, for example thoughts and actions you'd like to banish or acquire, or emotional suffering that is too overwhelming or has gone on too long. Think of it this way - if you wish to make a change in your life, for example become more confident or more motivated, and perhaps learn to deal with stress in a better way Hypnotherapy can help to achieve this.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
