Organisation Profile
Based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, The West Suffolk CBT (WSCBT) Service is devoted to offering the highest quality Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) treatment. CBT is all that WSCBT offers.
Therapists within the WSCBT are encouraged to reach the highest standards of professional practice in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. The majority of it’s therapists write books about CBT (e.g., “Think about your thinking to stop depression” by Dr Nicola Ridgeway and Dr James Manning, “Cool Connections with CBT” by Laurie Seiler.) Therapists are registered with all major insurance companies.
The average WSCBT therapist generally
a) Has worked in the NHS for 10 years of more, and has approximately 15 years experience working with a wide range of mental health problems
b) Is involved in the training or supervision of other professionals in CBT
c) Offers teaching and workshops in CBT
d) Is accredited with the British Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapists (BABCP).
Currently, the West Suffolk CBT Service has a range of commitments to improve access to CBT.
• It is offering seminars or workshops at the University College London, University of Bristol, The University of Birmingham, and the University of Manchester.
• It has a range of CBT self-help products that are either in press or in the final stages of development.
Therapists within the West Suffolk CBT Service are registered with all major insurance providers.
