Profile
I offer person centred counselling to individuals and couples. I can offer long term therapy or brief therapy in York.
I can offer a choice of two venues in York.
I work in a clinic in the centre of the city of York and within easy walking distance of York station. I am based in the Healing Clinic in York where I share premises with other practicioners offering a range of therapies: see www.thehealingclinic.co.uk
I also work from a counselling room at home in YO31, off Huntington Road, York, where I can see individuals and couples and where I also offer supervision to individual counsellors and small groups (3 maximum)
I have been working as a counsellor in private practice for four years and I have experience of helping my clients with a range of issues including anxiety and depression, bereavement and relationship problems.
I have a very flexible approach to working with my clients and aim always to work in a way which suits the individual. When we first meet we will talk about how you would like your counselling to work for you and what your preferences are - for example, how can we book your appointments so that they fit in with the rest of your life while still offering you the strong support you need while in counselling?

Training, Qualifications & Experience
I have an MA in Counselling from York St John university; a diploma in counselling and I am a member of BACP.
I am currently training in counsellor supervision, again at York St John.
I have an interest in session length in counselling and this was the subject of my research for my Masters at York.
I have a background in mental health and have worked with adults and the elderly. I also have experience of counselling in a women's centre and in a drug and alcohol organisation.

Fees
I charge £30 per hour (60 minutes)
I am also able to offer shorter or longer sessions, charged pro-rata (30 minutes to 90 minutes)
Initial appointments are for one hour and we will discuss what session length you would prefer after that.
I ALSO OFFER CONCESSIONS. Please don't assume you cannot afford my fees - phone me to discuss it.
