I have been a professional in the drug and alcohol treatment field for more than twenty years.
I believe in the uniqueness of the person and I am committed to finding the therapy to suit each individual need.
I offer a 'person centred' approach. Supportive and confidential sessions may also use brief intervention therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, 12 step philosophy and other approaches as appropriate.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an MBACP Registered Independent Counsellor and a Registered Member of the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals (FDAP)
I have a Diploma in Multi-Disciplinary Studies of Drug and Alcohol Misuse and have also trained in working with sexual abuse, working with; anger; forgiveness; relapse prevention; aftercare and other recovery related issues.
I have a personal clinical supervisor and meet with them regularly.
I am committed to continuing personal development.
I am a registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy. I agree with and am bound by their Code of Ethics and I am committed to their complaints procedure (both of these can be viewed on the BACP website).
I am an accredited member of the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals.

Other areas of counselling I deal with
Family members of clients with dependency issues.
Assessment will usually take between an hour and a half and two hours and costs £50.00.
Subsequent sessions will be of one hour duration, usually once a week.
Hourly fees are negotiable, in the region of £50.00 but on a sliding scale according to individual circumstances.
