Counsellor Profile
I am a counsellor with a commitment to providing a safe confidential environment in which clients can work with me to try and resolve their problems and make changes big or small to improve quality of life. I work in a variety of different ways to give you insights into what is troubling you, helping you to understand and deal with painful or difficult issues.
My approach is integrative, including, humanistic, psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy skills.
I am a full member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work to BACP’s ethical framework.
It's often difficult to admit that we need support and easy to become isolated. I believe that we all need someone to listen to us in a non-judgemental way and make us feel heard. I feel that it is a privilege to be able to offer help to others and to be part of their journey.
I work with individuals and couples over the age of 18. I do time limited and long term work. I have experience in Brief Counselling.
I work at home in a private room that is set aside for my client work. Somewhere where we can work undisturbed and you can feel safe to talk. The house is situated on the edge of Hereford city and is in a rural setting, private and easily accessible from main routes from Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, South Wales and Shropshire. Parking is available on site.
My past professional background is nursing including; general, district and occupational health.
Other experience includes; working with army families, coordinating a charity that cared for carers and working as a volunteer with victims of crime.
