I am a BACP accredited and UKRC registered independent counsellor working in Newbury. I see my role as offering you a confidential place to explore issues and feelings without any pressure or judgement. I work psychodynamically, helping you to make sense of both your present experience and issues that may arise from the past.

I see people (both young people and adults) on a one to one basis and can offer both short-term solution focused and longer-term open-ended therapy, depending on your needs and wishes.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

MA in counselling - University of Reading
Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling - University of Reading
Time Limited Counselling (WPF)
CBT training for counsellors already trained within another modality (OCTC)
MBACP (Accredited), UKRC Registered Independent Counsellor
Many years experience in the medical profession and working in various NHS contexts

I have worked as a counsellor in Primary Care (GP surgery), in a general counselling agency, work related services, a drug and alcohol agency and in private practice.

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (www.bacp.co.uk). I adhere to the BACP's code of ethics.

Fees

Sessions normally last for 50 minutes and are charged at £40 per session. This fee may be negotiable depending on circumstances.

Tranquil, pleasant consulting rooms in Newbury. There is free parking outside and the location is a 10 minute walk from Newbury town centre, and both the train and bus station.
