Counsellor ProfileI believe that there is potential for growth and change in everyone, and that offering a person a space to evaluate their lives, where they are accepted and valued, can often facilitate that change. My approach to counselling is primarily person-centred but I also use insights from other psychotherapy and counselling approaches where appropriate, eg Cognitive Behavioural techniques can be helpful in dealing with depression or anxiety.
Along with training in individual counselling, I have also trained in couple counselling with Relate and am accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
I can offer counselling within a Christian context – I equally welcome those of other or no faith, and whether spiritual issues are discussed is entirely up to you.
As a member of BACP, I work within their Ethical Framework and am subject to their Complaints Procedure.
