Counsellor Profile
I HAVE BEEN PASTORING, ENCOURAGING, LISTENING AND COUNSELLING FOR TWENTY YEARS.
Understanding and empathy have come to my counselling through having walked through difficult times myself. My first wife died of breast cancer at 34 leaving me with a two and a half year old daughter to raise as a single parent. Bereavement, anger, stress, depression and anxiety have all, at one time, been part of my own walk.
As a father now of a large family, including five step-children, who are going through teenage years, I know the pain, intricacies and conflicts of family life. Parenting, marriage and relationship issues are a special interest of mine and I have gained valuable personal experience in this field. Like many others nowadays, I have also been under pressure in stressful work environments.
I have a heart for people - to nurture, to encourage and to believe in - and have deep compassion for those undergoing emotional struggles. Having heard many things behind closed doors, very little can surprise me now. My earnest desire is to see others come into the fullness of all their lives can be.
I am CRB checked and work part-time with dsyfunctional 16-25 year olds in a national charity organisation and also counsel prisoners at one of H.M.Prison's. I have lived, counselled and gained experience in a variety of different countries overseas.
Counselling takes place at my counselling room in Kettering and my aim is to provide a caring environment where people can feel comfortable about discussing and sharing personal matters in a confidential and safe place.
