Counsellor Profile

I am an experienced and qualified BACP Accreditated Counsellor and Psychotherapist working both for the NHS and in private practice.
I have previously worked in social housing and family welfare and have extensive knowledge of family and relationship issues as well as experience of working with difference i.e. culture, colour, faith, sexuality, disability and age. I take part in continuous professional development and training and have regular supervision of my clinical work. In addition, I can offer ongoing supervision to both students and counsellors in practice.

My initial Diploma training both at City University and Regents College was in Person Centred and Existential Counselling and Psychotherapy. More recently I have trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at the Priory where I have worked in an NHS service in Croydon for the past 5 years. For 8 years I have worked in private practice and for Employee Assistance Schemes. My experience is wide-ranging and eclectic with specific expertise in the managment of Depression and Anxiety. So from an Existential perspective your problems might relate to a lack meaning or purpose in your life. However, using CBT techniques I will be able to focus on how negative thoughts impact on your feelings, behaviour and physiology. Using these and other skills I can help you overcome the difficulties in your life whether they be work related, health issues, relationship problems, panic attacks, social anxiety or low mood.

My consulting room is in Balham High Road, close to Balham and Tooting Bec Stations and on bus routes from Wimbledon and Clapham. Unfortunately, at this time I do not have disabled access.
