Counsellor ProfileChoosing the right counsellor is very important, particularly when you are facing testing times.I recognise this and so offer all clients an initial consultation meeting for which I charge a small fee. During this meeting you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the counselling process, I will fully inform you about how I work and establish what I can provide in response to your presenting difficulties/ need. This consultation meeting takes about 90 minutes. I practice as an Integrative counsellor. I believe that you are all individuals and taylor my work to suit you. This means offering structured counselling approaches with the aim of promoting positive outcomes and insights as a goal when addressing your personal difficulties. This integrative approach is informed by integrating Cognitive Behavoural therapy CBT, Psychodynamic therapy and Person Centered therapy. I also incorporate Mindfulness based C.B.T, which is effective for working with unwanted thoughts, feelings and helpful in working through symptoms and perceptions associated with depression, anxieties, traumatic experiences or incidents. I offer solution focused brief counselling (5-8wks) and longer term counselling. My work is person focused, I work at your pace in accordance to your presenting needs. I recognise everyone as individual and that your experience of life is unique to you, this factor is highly valued within my practice and positive professional outlook. Apart from my own private work, I work voluntarily for a generic counselling service which receives referrals from Adults who are directed from primary and secondary health settings i.e General practitioners.
