Counsellor Profile

I have been in private practice as a counsellor and later as a psychotherapist since 1991. I work from home in an extensionon on the side of my house. I have also worked as a student counsellor and as a counsellor in a GP surgery. I have considerable experience with short term counselling and am also an experienced psychotherapists who is able to offer long term in depth work. My training is psychodynamic. I also offer Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy.

1989 Diploma in Counselling Chichester Counselling Services

2000 Qualified as a psychotherapist with the Association of Independent Psychotherapists and Registered with United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapist.
2006 Diploma in Clinical Supervision Chichester Counselling Services.

I have been practicing as a counsellor and psychotherapist for 18 years and feel that the depth and variety of my experience offers a benefit to both myself and my clients.

I also offer supervision to counsellors and other people in the helping professions

    Along with a colleague, I offer 8 week courses in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy which has been recommended by NICE as an effective therapy to prevent relapse into depression. Research also shows that Mindfulness Based Therapies are effective in managing stress and anxiety. Mindfulness is a gentle process which includes meditation and awareness exercises.
