Profile

I am an experienced counsellor/psychotherapist working in the centre of Luton. Previously I qualified as a nurse and Health Visitor, so have been involved for many years with families and individuals in difficulty or distress.

I have completed two rigorous professional trainings in counselling and psychotherapy which also required me to have personal therapy - so I have experience from both sides.

I work as a psychodynamic counsellor/therapist, which means working to understand how painful situations in the present may have roots in the past. This understanding allows the possibility of greater freedom of thought and action, when old patterns begin to change.

Counselling or therapy can be short term or open ended, and I provide a safe space where your thoughts and feelings can be explored without fear of judgement.

I am bound by BACP and BPC codes of ethics, and have regular supervision, to ensure the highest standard of professional practice.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

I am accredited with BACP, UKRC, and BPC.

- Certificate in Adlerian Counselling (1992)

- Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling (2002)

- Jungian Analytic Training (S.A.P.) (Qualified 2007)

I have worked as a bereavement counsellor, in a G.P surgery and as a counsellor at the University of Hertfordshire.

I am also a training therapist and supervisor for Herts and Beds Counselling training.

Areas of counselling I deal with

Other areas of counselling I deal with

  • I have particular interest and experience working with people who have low self esteem and relationship problems. Feeling bad about yourself, thinking that everyone else is doing better, can lead to a feeling of worthlessness. Discovering a different sense of identity can be liberating.

Therapies Offered

Fees

  • I charge £45 per session with some reduced fee places for those with low income.

Further Information

  • My consulting room is easily accessible by road or train, being 5 minutes walk from Luton station. On street parking is available.
