Profile

I work mainly with Individuals and Couples reacting to life events, such as bereavement, relationships with partners, parents colleagues.  Anger management, workplace issues and self esteem.

The model I use is an integration of Solution Focused, CBT and Coaching.

The contract is for 6 sessions. I find from my experience of nearly 20 years mainly using the short term model, that my clients have found this brief intervention has given them insight that has altered their perception of the situation presented, and enabled them to acquire skills that allow them to  to make appropriate decisions to live more effectively.

I believe that we all have the potential to alter our perceptions of the issues which are causing distress. I provide a safe space that allows the individual to be heard.

I am based centrally in Maidenhead within Mainline Train and Bus connection as well as Parking facilities.  My Hours are from 8am to 5 pm.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

I am MBACP (Senior Accredited) and have been working as a Therapist for 20 years.
I am also a BACP (SNR Accredited) Supervisor for Individual and Groups.

I have Memberships with the International Stress Management Association as well as Employment Assistance Provider Association.

My Qualifications Include A Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling as well as a Post Qualifying Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from the Oxford Centre of Cognitive Therapy.I have had various trainings in Couple Therapy, and specialise in Short Term Contracts for this type of work.

I have worked as a part time lecturer for Bracknell College in areas of Self Development, Communication and Social Skills training. I have also led training courses in Brief Therapy,as well as Solution Focused Couple Therapy

Presently I work mainly for EAP Companies, focusing on short term contracts.

I Supervise Individuals and Groups working in Primary Care as well as EAP's and with Couples. As an Integrative Counsellor I am able to supervise both long and short term work.

My counselling model is Integrative.A combination of ideas and insights drawn from a variety of different approaches so as to respond appropriately to the needs of the clients. I endeavour to look at the whole person, their work/life balance, and help them to create a lifestyle appropriate to their needs.
